Why We Started
Six years ago, I found myself longing for something different.
I was tired of the fast pace of city life—where people rarely know where their food comes from, where everyone seems glued to their phones, and where neighbours often pass each other without ever really connecting. It felt like life had become a cycle of working long hours just to buy things we didn’t truly need and impress people we barely knew.
I wanted something slower.
I wanted quiet mornings, fresh air, and a life connected to the seasons. I wanted to know where my food came from, to care for animals, to grow a garden, and to build genuine relationships with both people and the land.
So I worked hard, saved every dollar I could, and eventually bought this little farm about an hour outside the city.
Three years later, life surprised me in the best possible way—I met the love of my life. He moved here two years ago, and together we’ve welcomed our beautiful little boy into the world.
Although this property has been a farm for many years, Gather ‘Round Acres is something we created together. It’s more than a name. It’s the life we’re intentionally building as a family, and we’re so glad you’ve decided to be part of the journey.
